Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha Temple is located on Sabarimala Hill within the Periyar Tiger Reserve in Pathanamthitta District. It is a Hindu pilgrimage center dedicated to Lord Ayyappa. Surrounded by eighteen hills, the Sabarimala Temple is known for its iconic eighteen steps. It is one of the most famous religious destinations in India and among the most visited temples in the country.

A unique feature of this temple is that it is not open year-round; it opens during Mandalapooja, Makaravilakku, Vishu, and the first day of every Malayalam month. Before visiting Sabarimala, all pilgrims must observe celibacy for 41 days.

An annual celebration takes place at the Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala from November to mid-January. The two main occasions that attract the most visitors are the Mandala Puja and Makar Sankranti Puja. During this time, pilgrims may witness the Makara Vilakku from the Sabarimala hills, an awe-inspiring sight believed to represent a divine presence.

Safari Holidays Kerala provides special taxi services (Cochin/Kochi Taxi) from Kochi to Sabarimala and, as a tour operator, arranges all necessary amenities for your visit to the temple.
